Researchers urged to focus on modern agriculture
Islamabad: Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, since taking over the charge as Chairman of PARC, in his first address to Council’s employees has said that PARC as an apex agriculture research organization is playing a leading role in various ways to bring prosperity and alleviate poverty from Pakistan and link the farmers with economic corridor so that they could get the award of their labor at their own.
The Chairman urged the agriculture researchers to come up with solutions to address the problems of farming community and increase productivity in order to ensure food security in the country. Dr. Ali further stressed the agriculturist to utilize their vision and experience in revitalizing agricultural research in the country. For promoting Agriculture Development, Mega PSDP Projects under Prime Minister Agriculture Emergency Program research has been designed to uplift agriculture on modern lines and Agricultural Linkage Program (ALP) is supporting PARC’s research as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Syed Shamim ul Sibtain Shah said that all the employees including scientists stand with the new Chairman to work with the spirit and it is hoped that under his patronage, PARC will play a significant role in agricultural research and development. He more added that Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Ali will surely enable PARC scientists to achieve their agricultural goals under the modern agricultural research system based on their experience and skills. These steps can move country towards agricultural self-sufficiency.
