PM inaugurates Havelian-Thakot section of Hazara motorway
ISLAMABAD, Nov. 19 (Gwadar Pro) – The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has become a whole encompassing project to play a key role in development of Pakistan, said Prime Minister Imran Khan at the inaugural ceremony of Havelian-Mansehra Section of Hazara Motorway held in Havelian on Monday.
According to Radio Pakistan, PM said the expressway is a part of CPEC, which is not a name of a road but a way of Pakistan's development and will play an important role in his country's rise and development.
The 39-kilometer-long Havelian-Thakot starts from Havelian, passes through Abbottabad, Mansehra and Shinkiari, and ends at Thakot.
It consists of two sections. The first section is from Havelian to North-Abbottabad with length of 27.425 km and the second section starts from North-Abbottabad to Mansehra with length of 11.880 Km.
There are 3 interchanges, 47 bridges, 12 flyovers, 143 underpasses, 2 tunnels and 4 toll stations on this section of motorway.
The 59 kilometres long 6-lane fenced Hazara motorway from Hassanabdal to Havelian or M-15 is an important segment of CPEC.
