Chinese envoy highlights modernisation drive, deepening all-weather partnership with Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (Gwadar Pro) - Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong said in a message issued on Monday that 2025 was an “extraordinary” year for China, marked by the completion of its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and progress toward high-quality, innovation-driven development.
He said China’s total economic output had reached an estimated 140 trillion yuan, and pointed to advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, space exploration and new energy vehicles.
He added that China’s modernisation drive continues despite global uncertainty, and said Beijing remains committed to multilateralism and reforming global governance, citing what he called the Global Governance Initiative as gaining broad international support.
He also referred to diplomatic events hosted by China, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin and the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women.
Jiang praised Pakistan’s recent economic stabilisation, reform efforts and diplomacy, saying Islamabad’s international engagement had improved its global standing. As “iron-clad friends” and “all-weather strategic cooperative partners”, he said China welcomed Pakistan’s progress.
He said high-level exchanges and strategic guidance from leaders on both sides had further strengthened ties and advanced the “China–Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.”
