MULTAN, Dec. 23 (Gwadar Pro) - The Women University, Multan, announced on Monday that its students have successfully completed a prestigious China-funded international research fellowship, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s expanding engagement with global academic and research collaboration.

Among the participants, Huma Aslam, an MPhil student in her third semester from the Department of Botany, completed a three-month International Research Fellowship with distinction at the College of Life Sciences, Shenyang Normal University, China. The fully funded fellowship, supported by the Chinese government, focused on ecological science, green development, and advanced research methodologies.

In an official statement, the university said the “achievement reflects the academic caliber of its postgraduate students and the strengthening research partnership between Pakistan and China”. It added that during her stay, “Huma demonstrated strong research competence, dedication, and professionalism, earning appreciation from the host faculty while representing both her institution and the country with distinction”.

A total of three students from Women University Multan participated in the China-based training initiative, which aimed to enhance advanced research skills and international exposure in emerging areas of environmental sustainability and scientific innovation.

The fellowship was part of a broader China–Pakistan academic exchange program under which 20 Pakistani students from leading institutions, including the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, were selected for advanced training in ecology and sustainable development. Seven female students were part of the prestigious fellowship program in China. The scholars attended an intensive three-month program from Sept. 16 to Dec. 14, receiving hands-on experience at modern research facilities and exposure to international scientific practices.
