ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (Gwadar Pro) - Thirty-one students from Punjab departed for China on Sunday (Nov 2) to continue studies under the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab’s Dual Diploma Programme, an initiative aimed at promoting technical education and international collaboration.

The group is part of the second batch of 70 students selected for the programme. Among them, 20 are enrolled in the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Software Technology at the Government College of Technology (GCT) PGA Lahore, while 11 specialise in Advanced Construction Technology at GCT Taxila.

The Dual Diploma Programme operates under an agreement between Punjab TEVTA and the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SIIT), China. The three-year curriculum includes two years of study in Pakistan and a final academic year in China, covering four disciplines: Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Textile Technology, and Advanced Construction Technology.

The first batch of students under the programme recently returned to Pakistan after completing their third academic year in China. TEVTA said the initiative aims to equip youth with globally relevant skills and strengthen educational and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
