Dasu Hydropower Project honors 2024 model employees

DASU, Apr. 8 (Gwadar Pro) -The Dasu Hydropower Project, a flagship initiative under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), reached a milestone with the 2024 Model Employees Award Ceremony on April 7. The event recognized 22 exceptional Chinese and Pakistani employees for their unwavering commitment, technical expertise, and role in fostering Sino-Pakistani cooperation.

Their efforts were regarded instrumental in overcoming logistical, technical, and environmental challenges to keep the project on track. Awards were presented to employees across categories like safety leadership, innovation, and teamwork, reflecting the project’s core values. Pakistani engineers were lauded for their local insights, while Chinese specialists were celebrated for transferring cutting-edge hydropower technology.

During the event the Project Directors emphasized the "Spirit of Dasu"perseverance, mutual learning, and a shared goal of sustainable development. "This project isn’t just about megawatts; it’s about the bonds we build," remarked the Chinese project manager, highlighting the human dimension of CPEC.

The awards reinforced CPEC’s role as a "Bridge of Friendship", with staff exchanges and joint training programs deepening bilateral ties. The ceremony closed with a pledge to "Light Up Pakistan, Together" a testament to the collective resolve driving CPEC’s success.

With the project being completed in two stages, each with a generation capacity of 2,160MW the Dasu Hydropower project has created 10,000+ local jobs and upskilled Pakistani workers in renewable energy technologies. The Project exemplifies how infrastructure development and people-centric recognition can strengthen geopolitical partnerships. By celebrating these 22 employees, China and Pakistan reaffirm their commitment to shared prosperity and a greener future.
