Media's role vital in strengthening China-Pakistan cultural odyssey, Senator Mushahid
Media plays a vital role in strengthening the cultural ties between China and Pakistan by enhancing communication and understanding, said Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed at the 'China-Pakistan Cultural Odyssey' symposium at the National Language Promotion Authority in Islamabad on Thursday.
“Through various platforms, including news outlets, television, radio, and digital media, the media can highlight cultural exchanges, promote mutual understanding, and showcase the rich heritage of both nations. Media cooperation helps build a stronger bond and fosters a sense of shared identity and collaboration,” he said.
Mushahid emphasized the importance of promoting media collaborations to support cultural festivals, educational programs, and joint projects, further enhancing China-Pakistan cultural ties. He also highlighted the student exchange program, noting that more than 28,000 Pakistani students are studying in China, including 8,000 pursuing PhDs. Language collaboration and cultural awareness can greatly benefit the youth by increasing understanding of each other's heritage.
Hosted by Foundation University Islamabad (FUI), the event brought together distinguished speakers, including academics, media professionals from China and Pakistan, and government officials, to explore the role of the media in fostering cultural and diplomatic connections between the two countries.
