HEC Invites Scholars for ‘CPEC Consortium of Universities’ Study Program in China
ISLAMABAD, Apr.30, (Gwadar Pro)- The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has called for applications from scholars under study or placement abroad program in China for six-month in China.
The program, which was announced on Monday, is part of “Academic Collaboration under CPEC Consortium of Universities”.
As per an official notification, the study program is designed to immerse participants in a rich educational experience, fostering cross-cultural understanding and enhancing professional skills.
As per HEC, the objective of the initiative is to equip scholars with new knowledge and insights, allowing them to build academic linkages for success in a globalized world, by exploring exclusive pathways to academic excellence and professional growth. Scholars and students will embark on this transformative program and become a part of the global talent pool.
Minimum academic requirement to avail the program is undergraduate, MS and PHD with minimum GPA of three out of four. The PG students (MS and Ph.D. must have successfully completed their course work and must apply within the specific disciplines while UG students must be in the final year of their degree program and must apply within specified disciplines.
The disciplines include Culture and Society, Infrastructure and Transportation, Technology and Innovation, Resource Management, Global Trade and Services, geosciences, Health Security, Art, Design and Digital Media, Hospitality and Tourism Development, and Coastal and Ocean Economy.
A scholar, applying for the program, must possess an acceptance letter from the host university in China and an NOC from the parent university in Pakistan. The scholar must be enrolled in a university that is a member of the CPEC Consortium of Universities. The last date to apply for the program is June 15.
The China-Pakistan Consortium of Universities was established under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in August 2017, aimed at enhancing academic collaboration between universities in both nations. Initially comprising 19 members in 2017, the Consortium has since expanded to include over 50 universities from both countries, further solidifying their academic ties.
