ISLAMABAD.Nov.15(Gwadar Pro) - The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan on Tuesday extended an invitation to Pakistani students to submit online applications for the “Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2024-25.”

The Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC), under the Government of China, is facilitating Pakistani students and scholars to pursue studies and research at Chinese universities. HEC, while representing the Government of Pakistan, is the nominating agency for these scholarships in the academic year 2024-25.

As per HEC guidelines, the deadline for submitting online applications on its portal for CSC scholarships is December 28, 2023. Eligible candidates for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2024-25 must possess a valid Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) or University Scholastic Aptitude Test (USAT) score obtained after January 01, 2022.

It is apt to mention here that a send-off ceremony for 50 Pakistani scholars, recipients of the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship Programme, took place at HEC, Islamabad, on August 25, 2023.

During the send-off ceremony, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of HEC, highlighted that the current number of Pakistani students in China has exceeded 30,000. He noted that among them, some are recipients of Chinese government scholarships, while others have received scholarships directly from various provinces, universities, and even companies.

Since 2019, the Chinese Government has been extending scholarships to aspiring Pakistani students, covering a wide spectrum of educational pursuits including Undergraduate, Master, and PhD programs. Designated Chinese Universities offer a diverse range of academic programs in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Legal Studies, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy, and Fine Arts, among others, for scholarship recipients at all levels.
