TANG launches Chinese language, capacity building program for SEF schools
ISLAMABAD,Oct.24(Gwadar Pro) - The TANG Int’l Education Group, China has launched a comprehensive Chinese language program for students of the schools of Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), together with capacity building of their teachers.
The program will cover 100 SEF schools in 28 districts of Sindh province, Mansoor-ul- Hassan Siddiqui, TANG’s Regional Director for Sindh and Balochistan, told Gwadar Pro on Monday.
Initially, 35 teachers from 15 SEF schools are being trained on operating the cloud platform for learning Chinese.The teachers and students of 8, 9, and 10 grades will learn Chinese together through the platform. They will also be assisted by instructors from the state-run universities of China, Siddiqui said.
In addition, under the program, teachers of SEF schools will also be sent to China for capacity building. Teachers having Bachelor’s degrees will acquire Master’s degrees and those having Master’s degrees will acquire PhD degrees from China, Siddiqui added.
The program also has a quota for children of non-teaching staff of the SEF schools, who will be enrolled in the China- Pakistan dual diploma programs in various technical colleges of the province, he said.
The program has the potential to open doors to students to global opportunities in communication, trade, education, and diplomacy, as well as strengthen cultural ties with China and enhance the region’s economic growth, Siddiqui said.
Established by the Sindh government, SEF aims to provide students of remote areas with access to quality education in partnership with individuals and organizations. SEF runs 2,100 schools in the province.
