PESHAWAR, Aug 19 (Gwadar Pro) - The China Study Center (CSC) at the University of Peshawar is offering students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) opportunities to participate in a one-year post-doctorate program and a 6-month training program for graduate and undergraduate students at renowned Chinese universities. These programs cater to students with research proposals centered around the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The initiative seeks to bolster academic collaboration and deepen understanding of CPEC’s dynamics.

As per a notification from the China Study Center (CSC) at the University of Peshawar, the Higher Education Commission (HEC)’s CPEC Academic Research and Development Unit has funding available for "Academic Collaboration within the CPEC Consortium of Universities: Training & Technical Cultivation”. This funding is split into two categories: one for Post-Doc training up to a year, and the other for study abroad opportunities targeting undergraduate and graduate students for six months.

Applicants are requested to submit their applications to  CSC Peshawar by August 21, 2023.

The "Academic Collaboration under CPEC Consortium of Universities" initiative aims to understand and respond to the historic global geo-strategic and geo-economic transition. It studies its impact on the region in general and Pakistan in particular, keeping in mind the broader Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and its Pakistan-specific component – CPEC. The strategic opportunity arising from these global dynamics is framed within the CPEC Long-Term Plan (LTP).

The CPEC Consortium of Universities consists of 29 Chinese universities and 61 Pakistani institutions, which includes institutions like Fudan University, Shanghai; Harbin Engineering University; Hohai University; Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong; Nanjing University, Nanjing; and Peking University, Beijing, among others.
