Azerbaijan to start direct flights to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) of Azerbaijan is gearing up to introduce direct flight connections to Pakistan starting from Sept. 20, Pakistan's state news agency said on Wednesday.
AZAL will offer regular flights to three key cities in Pakistan including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) quoted a spokesperson from the Azerbaijan Embassy as saying.
Scheduled flights from Baku to Islamabad will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while connections to Lahore are set for Mondays and Fridays, the spokesperson added.
The flight is scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays from the country's southern port city of Karachi, the spokesperson was quoted as saying.
