COMSATS to support innovative tech solutions
The Executive Director COMSATS, Ambassador Dr. M. Nafees Zakaria, received at his office, a team of incredible young Pakistani innovators and co-founders of DeafTawk, a tech company leveraging inclusion and prosperity of differently abled community, through its real-time sign language tech app, bridging gap for 466M deaf worldwide.
He met DeafTawk’s CEO, Ali Shabbar, CTO, Wamiq Hassan, and COO, Abdul Qadeer. They exchanged views on advancements being made on technological front and the breakthrough digital technologies are providing in the present-day world.
The team leaders elaborated on the particular role they are performing for DeafTawk. The CEO and co-founder, Ali, informed that he initiated and oversees disability inclusive business process and has also founded the Pakistan Mobile App Awards in the country. CTO Wamiq, the 1st deaf Pakistani computer engineer, briefed that he innovates with tech giants like Apple and Nokia, and has founded hearing aid technology in smartphones by Samsung. The COO Abdul Qadeer briefed that he supports smooth operations of the company and has professional experience in automating inclusive banking and developing financial applications such as digital wallets.
