ISLAMABAD, Jun. 30 (Gwadar Pro) - As many as 107 boys and 91 girls are getting quality education in Gaddani, a coastal town in the impoverished Lasbella district of Balochistan.

The school, built by China Power Hub Generation Co. (CPHGC), is being run by The Citizen Foundation (TCF).

According to a video posted by the CPHGC on June 28, the school is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, under which the company has so far spent Rs170 million in various community uplift schemes.

In the video, Mehvish, a teacher, says that the area had no school before and the students faced severe difficulties in getting education.

Noor Khan, a student in grade-5, says that he switched to the TCF-CPHGC school after learning about it. “I felt difficulties in maths but now I am good in maths after studying in this school”, he added.

Dil Jan, a local resident, says that as their kids are happily learning in the TCF-CPHGC school; they are equally happy to see them getting quality education.

The school has a dedicated well-trained teaching staff, mostly hired from the local area. The school also has a library and a playing area.

The CPHGC is a joint venture between China Power Int’l and Hub Power Co. The JV has built a 1,320 megawatts coal-fired power plant under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Hub, Balochistan.
