In phone call with Chinese premier, PM Shehbaz affirms resolve to boost ties for regional peace, stability
Chinese Premier Li Qiang spoke on the phone with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the morning of April 27th.
Li Qiang said that China and Pakistan are good neighbors, good friends, good partners, and good brothers. Both sides should maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communication, promote greater progress in bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, and jointly promote the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
Li Qiang emphasized that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the 10th anniversary of the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. “Both sides should promote the high-quality development of corridor cooperation and build it into a demonstration project for high-quality jointly building the "Belt and Road." We are willing to continue to import more high-quality agricultural and livestock products from Pakistan and promote industrial cooperation between China and Pakistan. Both sides should accelerate the expansion of cooperation in agriculture, mineral resources, science and technology, and information technology. China supports Pakistan in maintaining financial stability. We hope that Pakistan will continue to create a favorable environment and effectively guarantee the safety of Chinese-funded institutions and personnel in Pakistan. We will continue to firmly support Pakistan in safeguarding national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and firmly support Pakistan in fighting terrorism, maintaining unity and stability, and achieving revitalization and development. In the multilateral field, we will support each other, maintain international fairness and justice, safeguard the common interests of both countries and other developing countries, safeguard regional peace and security, and promote common development.”
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan and China are "ironclad" brothers, and the destiny of the two countries is closely linked. Pakistan will always be a trustworthy partner for China in maintaining peace, promoting development, and addressing common challenges. Pakistan firmly adheres to the one-China policy and firmly supports China on all issues related to China's core interests. Pakistan is grateful for China's firm support and selfless assistance in safeguarding Pakistan's national independence, sovereignty and promoting national development. Pakistan is willing to work with China to promote high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, deepen cooperation in infrastructure, industry, agriculture, trade, and other fields, and promote the further development of Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
