ISLAMABAD, Apr. 13 (Gwadar Pro) -Faisal Movers, one of the leading bus service providers in Pakistan, has announced the launch of a bus service between Islamabad and Tashkurgan, China after Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The service from Islamabad to Tashkurgan will start on May 13, 2023,” a representative of the company told Gwadar Pro, adding that the service type will be mini-Yutong with 28 seat capacity. The journey will be approximately 38 hours including immigration process. Passengers will also enjoy a one-night stay at the Sust border. The estimated fare is Rs. 60,000 (around RMB 1432).

According to the representative, the essential requirements for travel access for this route include an original passport/copy, original visa/copy, valid visa, and invitation letter from China (Visa Category F&M).

The opening of the service was widely welcomed by Pakistanis who wanted to travel to China by land. “Good news, bus service from Islamabad to Tashkurgan is going to start after Eid,” said Secretary of Pakistan Alpine Club (PAC), Karrar Haidri, adding it will boost tourism in the region.

Faisal Hayat, who last year graduated from the Kunming University of Science and Technology, Yunnan, and seeking higher education in China, called the service a “great initiative” especially for students. “Airfares are much higher these days, we need more bus services to connect people in the two brotherly countries with economical land routes,” he told Gwadar Pro.

In 2019, Faisal Movers started a bus service between Rawalpindi-Islamabad and Tashkurgan, China but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the service was terminated. Buses take almost 25 hours to reach Tashkurgan from Rawalpindi-Islamabad.
