Gwadar port holds Chinese New Year, Thanksgiving celebrations
GWADAR, Jan. 14 (Gwadar Pro) - A bustling thanksgiving ceremony cum Chinese New Year party celebration was held at Gwadar Port.
The ceremony was graced by the children of China-Pakistan Government Girls Middle School who sang the anthems in Urdu and Chinese. Later on they presented a hand-made portrait of the outgoing Chairman of China Overseas Ports Holding Company (COPHC) Zhang Baozhong to exhibit their love and devotions towards him.
Organized by COPHC at China Business Center, the event was attended by a large number of participants coming from different walks of life. Chief guests in the program were Commander West of Pakistan Navy, Rear Admiral Imtiaz Ali SI, GOC of 44 Special Security Division of Pakistan Army Major General Ahsan Waqas Kiyani, Chairman GPA Passand khan Buledi, Vice Chancellor of University of Gwadar Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, DG Gwadar Development Authority Mujeeb Ur Rehman Qambrani and Additional Inspector General of Police Kashif Alam.
Speaking on the occasion, Zhang Baozhong expressed his deep emotions and sentiments that he attaches to the land and people of Gwadar. "I believe in the talents of the locals for the development of Gwadar Port and Free zone," the chairman said. Furthermore, he thanked investors and developers for their contributions to the industrialization of Gwadar.
Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Passand Khan Buledi conveyed his remarks to the participants. He expressed words of praise for the outgoing chairman COPHC and highlighted the services Zhang rendered for the cause of social development of Gwadar. Buledi assured operators of the port and Free Zone of his and government's all-out support.
