Zong 4G setting up digital lab for women

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 28 (Gwadar Pro)- China Mobile Communications Corporation’s Zong 4G on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understating (MoU) with Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) and the Ministry of Power Alleviation and Social Security (MOPASS) to set up a state-of-the-art lab within the Women Empowerment Vocational Center in Islamabad for marginalized women.
The lab will focus on capacity building and promoting as part of women’s digital learning under Zong 4G’s programs of promoting digital education and women’s empowerment.
PBM is providing assistance to destitute women, widows, orphans, and other marginalized segments of society. With a state-of-the-art digital lab at the Women’s Empowerment Center, poor women will have access to the latest technology and modern skills needed to find employment.
Besides helping destitute women, Zong 4G is also reaching out to poor children at orphanages to educate them on digital learning and freelancing.
Last week, volunteers from Zong 4G conducted training sessions for the children at SOS Muzaffarabad, Azad & Jammu Kashmir on digital learning and freelancing and also distributed books focusing on digital learning, IQ level building, along with learning material and stationery kits. A special session was also conducted for students where they were encouraged to identify their skills in freelancing. “We are carrying on our mission to create a digitally enabled Pakistan which contributes directly to a better future for our youth and equips them with the skills crucial to their success,” according to a spokesperson of Zong 4G.
