Gwadar Maritime Security Workshop discussed security, development, social issues
GWADAR, Dec. 14 (Gwadar Pro) - On Gwadar Port's Potential and Challenges besides maritime issues and impact on socio-economic life & national security, the 2-day Gwadar Maritime Security Workshop has ended. All stakeholders agreed on utilizing all available resources to safeguard Gwadar and Gwadar port and will team up to keep development smooth.
As many as 45 members from media, think tanks, business community and members of the National Assembly took part in the workshop organized under the umbrella of the Pakistan Navy.
Participants agreed that Gwadar Port has immense capability to deliver up to mark and the pace of development may go to full throttle if needless bureaucratic checks are undone.
Gwadar free zones deserve to be beneficiary of all preferential treatments in line with international SOPs, they opined.
Speaking on the occasion COPHC Chairman Zhang Baozhong and GPA reaffirmed their firm commitment to utilize resources at their disposal for the development of Gwadar Port and Free Zone.
GPA Chairman Pasand Khan Buleidi highlighted the bottlenecks and unnecessary institutional checks that obstruct timely implementation of several projects. There is a need to re-structure the governance and bureaucratic system from traditional command and control serve and deliver strategy, Buledi added.
