Chinese company donates Rs 10 million to flood affectees
ISLAMABAD, Sept 11 (Gwadar Pro) - Chinese multi-national technology company Vivo on Friday afternoon handed over Pakistani Rs 10 million to President Arif Alvi as donation for the flood affectees.
Vivo Pakistan had earlier announced that it would donate Rs 10 million to the country’s flood victims in these trying times.
The phone maker’s announcement on Twitter said: “Let’s weather the storm together. We stand by our fellow Pakistanis in these hard times and offer our support to the flood victims through Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2022.”
More and more multinational companies are coming to Pakistan’s aid by the day. Apple and Google have already donated millions to Pakistan’s flood relief efforts and now Vivo has pledged to do so through the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2022.
Hopefully, this move from Vivo will also nudge other companies into helping Pakistan’s flood relief efforts.
China has been at the forefront to help Pakistan amid the devastating floods. This month China announced to add another RMB 300 million to its financial assistance to flood-ravaged Pakistan – taking the tally to RMB 400 million.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to President of China Xi Jinping for an assistance package of RMB 400 million for flood affectees in Pakistan.
Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that China has been closely following the post-flood situation in Pakistan. Chinese companies have also been donating generously. Relief goods from China have also arrived in Pakistan in recent days.
