Energy China plans to invest in Solar Energy sector in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, June 1, (Gwadar Pro)- As Energy China (EC) plans to invest in Solar Energy production and manufacturing sector in Pakistan, Board of Investment (BOI)’s Project Management Unit, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Industrial Cooperation (PMU-CPEC-IC) on Tuesday ensured EC to connect it with relevant stakeholders for timely and effective execution of the project.
A day before, during a meeting on Pakistan-China Business Investment Forum (PCBIF), Energy China’s delegation shared its project with BOI regarding its planned investment in solar energy production and manufacturing sector in the country. EC has asked BOI’s support for fast tracking its project.
During today’s meeting, BOI’s Project Director CPEC-IC Asim Ayub expressed his full support for the Chinese delegation of cooperation and timely execution of the project.
On Monday, BOI and All-Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’ Association (APCEA) convened the meeting of Pakistan-China Business and Investment Forum (PCBIF) in Islamabad. Participants discussed the future course of action for boosting Pak-China B2B Investment Cooperation.
Modalities and programme for the 1st PCBIF Steering Committee meeting were also finalized for the physical participation of leading Pak-China enterprises, under the chair of top-level leadership of Pakistan. BOI and APCEA, under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, will take lead in organizing the Committee meeting. Several MOUs and JVs bringing substantial FDI are also in the pipeline to be signed during the said meeting.
