Punjab CM orders special security for Chinese nationals
LAHORE, May 2: Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday afternoon ordered special security for the Chinese people living or working in the province.
He was chairing a meeting at chief minister's office here in which arrangements were made to ensure that the life and property of the masses on Eidul Fitr also came under consideration.
The meeting reviewed law and order situation in the province and security arrangements of foreigners especially the Chinese people.
The special arrangements come after three Chinese nationals and a Pakistani were killed in a suicide attack in Karachi recently.
The CM directed to ensure foolproof security on the moon night and Eid congregations and mobilize district law and order committees.
He urged the public representatives to play their proactive role for the betterment of law and order in their respective districts and no stone should be left unturned for ensuring the security of the masses.
He resolved that no compromise would be made on the steps being taken for ensuring the safety and security of the masses.
Police officers gave him a briefing on the arrangements being made for the security of the people across the province.
Parliamentarians Rana Maqbool Ahmad, Awais Leghari, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Jahangir Khanzada, Zeeshan Rafique, Atta Tarar and senior officials concerned attended the meeting physically or through video links.
