Govt announces to provide 5G internet service in country from next year

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque Saturday announced to provide 5G internet service in the country from next year.

According to news Channel report, A special ceremony was held here in Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi in which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Ministry of IT, the ISPR and Karachi University.

Addressing the ceremony, the minister said that 5G internet service would be launched in the country in December next year.

He also hinted at connecting the entire country to internet service, manufacturing of mobile phones, 911 helpline service and launching of 5G by December 2022.

The federal minister said that they were going to start an animation training centre in Karachi with the cooperation of Karachi University.

He said the Karachi University would provide a 28,000 square feet piece of land to constitute the animation training centre.

The minister said that the modern animation training centre would be developed with a huge amount of Rs2 billion.

He said the international animation industry had a total volume of US$370 billion and Pakistan would get a big share from it through trained Pakistani animators.
