Gwadar becoming a keystone in promoting Afghanistan’s prosperity

GWADAR, Sept. 25 (Gwadar Pro) -“Shipping and logistics are the backbones of any economy. Gwadar, as Pakistan’s gateway to Afghanistan and the rest of the world, can be a pillar for logistical and shipping business,” said Mr. Ali Awan, CEO of Shelozon Movers, Packers and Logistics (Pvt) Ltd., which offers inbound and outbound services to and from major cities in Pakistan to Afghanistan.

Gwadar port has all the key ingredients to connect BRI and CPEC with Central Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Africa. It is China’s “gateway to the West” passing through Pakistan’s territory. Mr. Ali is convinced that China-Pakistan logistical cooperation could be a game-changer as Gwadar Port is turning out to be a strategically, technically, and geographically viable port for commercial operations.

It has been more than a year since Gwadar Port operated the Afghan transit trade. “We just started our planning towards having a warehouse and office of Gwadar and there are not a few companies like us that are targeting the port of Gwadar.” Mr. Ali stated.

With the support of Chinese technology, Gwadar will give full play to its role as a deep-water port and drive the technological leap of the whole country, he added.

Mr. Ali underlined that stability and peace will be restored in Afghanistan soon with China and Pakistan’s deepening cooperation.
