China’s ZTE Corporation, United Mobile sign MoU to introduce complete range of ZTE mobiles in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, September 11(Gwadar Pro)- China’s ZTE Corporation and United Mobile signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce the complete range of ZTE mobiles in Pakistan.

ZTE Corporation is a partially state-owned Chinese technology company that specializes in telecommunication. Founded in 1985, ZTE is listed on both Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. ZTE operates carrier networks, terminals, and telecommunication.

Under this MoU, United Mobile will introduce the complete range of ZTE mobiles in Pakistan, on the basis of Mobile Device Manufacturing (MDM) Policy, 2021.

In addition to mobile phones, ZTE terminal end devices, along with ZTE IoT devices and accessories, will also be introduced in the local market in the future as well.

Federal Secretary Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunication Dr Sohail Rajput said that the present government had an export-oriented technology-based vision of the future.

He said the Ministry of IT engaged all stakeholders in the IT and Telecom sector and introduced policies that encourage investment and exports. Earlier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ZTE Pakistan Li Guowen welcomed the attendees. He shared ZTE's vision and future expansion plans in Pakistan based on massive opportunities available in the local market.

He congratulated and thanked the Ministry of IT official for creating an enabling environment which gives international business the requisite confidence to invest in different sectors in Pakistan, especially in the technology sector. Member Telecom, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT) Omar Malik and Director Wireless Jahanzeb also addressed the ceremony.
