ISLAMABAD, July 11 (Gwadar Pro) - China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority chief Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) said on Saturday afternoon that the 10th meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on CPEC will be held on July 16.

While announcing the date of the much-awaited meeting on Twitter, he said the meeting would be held via video link.

He said the meeting would be co-chaired by Planning Minister Asad Umar and Vice Chairman National Development and Reforms Commission (NDRC) of China Ning Jizhe. Bajwa’s tweet was retweeted by the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong.

Normally the JCC meeting is held once a year. The 9th meeting was held in 2019 but the 10th meeting could not be scheduled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

JCC is the highest decision-making forum on CPEC which reviews progress and decisions on the mega projects.

Nong Rong earlier said China had so far invested $ 25.4 billion in CPEC since its inception and had created 75,000 jobs for Pakistanis.

The CPEC JCC has several working groups placed under it, which meet between JCC sessions, and prepare recommendations for the main committee.
