ISLAMABAD, Jul 8 (Gwadar pro)- CPEC Authority Chief Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) said on Wednesday afternoon that security for the CPEC projects had been beefed up.

"Security for the CPEC projects is much better now and not a single project has been stopped due to security reasons", he said while speaking to journalists.

Bajwa said he was personally monitoring each and every project under CPEC and he was also streamlining the operational issues of the mega project.

"Gwadar Free Zone Phase-I is fully operational now and has so far created over 1200 jobs. The development of Gwadar port and industrial zones would have a massive impact on the local as well as the national economy," he added.

Bajwa said COVID-19 was a big challenge for CPEC from which "we have successfully come out and now it will develop with even higher pace."

To a question, he said there was no delay in the work of any of the projects and that the trust of Chinese investors in the CPEC projects was increasing.

"The construction of the Route will ensure more jobs for the people of the areas," he remarked.

The CPEC Authority Chief said fishermen in Gwadar were being given special attention. "They will witness a huge increase in their incomes," he promised.
