GWADAR, July 6 (Gwadar Pro) – Iran's trade through Gwadar Port would start soon, said Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) on Monday.

In a video message, he said that work for Iran's trade through Gwadar Port was in progress. “It would start soon,” he added.

Bajwa said the Ramadan-Gabd crossing point near Gwadar was active and fully functional now. He said the fencing work of Pakistan-Iran border was going on rapidly and new border markets were being established at the crossing points. CPEC Authority chief said the smuggling from Iran was decreasing due to increase in regulated trade.

Later in the day, addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of various development projects in Gwadar, CPEC Authority chief said CPEC had put the Balochistan province on the path of progress and prosperity.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was taking keen interest in developing CPEC projects.
