CPC firm on developing friendly ties with Pakistan: FM Spokesperson Wang Wenbin

BEIJING, July 1 (Gwadar Pro) – The Communist Party of China (CPC) stands firm on developing a friendly relationship with Pakistan, which is also a consistent position of the Chinese Government, said the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Thursday’s routine Press Conference. 

Wang made the remarks when asked to comment on Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s message of felicitation to Chinese President Xi on the centenary of CPC. PM Khan highlighted CPC role and sacrifices for China's liberation and its subsequent rise. He also appreciated CPC role in nurturing all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China.

Wang said, “With the efforts of our two leaders and supports of our two peoples, China and Pakistan have become all-weather strategic partners. This year marks the centenary of the founding of CPC, and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan. Over the past seven decades, regardless of the changes in international landscape, China and Pakistan have respected, trusted and supported each other, forged an all-weather friendship, and formed a cooperation in an all-round way. The rock-solid and everlasting friendship between our two countries has become the most precious strategic asset for both of us.”   

Wang added that on the new journey forward, China will continue to uphold peace, development and win-win cooperation, work for a new type of international relations and the community of a shared future for mankind, boost high quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, and provide new opportunities to the rest of the world while developing itself.

In this process, China will always prioritize Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy. China stands ready to take the opportunity brought by the 70th anniversary, and work with the Pakistani side to successfully host a series of celebration activities, so as to take China-Pakistan relationship to a new stage and deliver more benefits to the two nations.
