How can Pakistan carpet business make a success in China？
SHANGHAI, June 23 (Gwadar Pro) - "My father came to China in 2003. He saw a lot of opportunities and potential here in Shanghai. In 2006, he introduced PakPersian Carpet and started this company," said Khizer Sohail, deputy general manager of PakPersian Carpet. The company currently has two stores in Shanghai, one of them is in Jing'an district, one of the most prosperous areas in Shanghai. The company also plans to open more stores before the end of this year.
"Carpet is a commodity, but it's definitely more than that. It's also art and culture. It's like a silent language of a person, a place or a country," said Mian Muhammad Zubair，general manager of PakPersian Carpet. Mian told us that they have researched and developed to a point where carpet becomes a cultural commodity used every day at home.
"I think the potential is growing. More and more people coming to this product." Khizer appreciatesChinese customers increasing interest in Pakistan carpets. "There was also carpetmaking in Chinese culture. If you go back 500 to 1000 years , Pakistan and China have almost the same culture. In our carpet's designs, there are lots of Chinese and Pakistani culture mixed together in lots of carpets."
On the Pakistan Culture Week recently held in Shanghai, PakPersian Carpet signed an agreement with Hongqiao Import Commodities Exhibition and Trading Center(HQIICET) to enter the exhibition center of HQIICET. Khizer believes that it is a very good opportunity for the exposure of the international companies and brands within China. "Today, I introduced my products to a lot of Chinese people. I have told them about the Pakistan culture. I hope we explore the markets more and more. In the future, we will have a very good friendship and a long-term business with Chinese customers."
This year, PakPersian will also participate in the 4th China International Import Expo(CIIE). "I'm expecting an international exposure within China. CIIE is actually an important event not only for Shanghai, but also for all over China and other countries. From my point of view, this platform is a kind of advertisement. So my expectation of CIIE is bringing forward culture with technology." Mian said.
