Pakistan Culture Week kicked off in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, June 18 (Gwadar Pro)- To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relation between Pakistan and China, on June 18, the Pakistan Culture Week, jointly sponsored by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Shanghai and Hongqiao Import Commodities Exhibition and Trading Center(HQIICET), kicked off in Shanghai. The event will last until June 24, which showcases Pakistani characteristic products and promotes Pakistani culture. While demonstrating Pakistan's charm to local citizens, it will also further promote Pak-China trade cooperation.

“China is Pakistan's largest trade partner, the largest source of Pakistan imports, the second-largest destination for Pakistan exports and the largest sources of foreign direct investment. CPEC, which is a key component of Belt & Road Initiative, and China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement provide solid foundations for strengthening bilateral economic relations, ” said Hussain Haider, the Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai during the event. “We hope that this Pakistan Culture Week would create a better understanding about Pakistan's export potential among Chinese businessmen and consumers, and will contribute to bringing people from two countries even closer." Hussain Haider also expressed his hope to use CIIE and HQIICET to tap the Chinese market, let Chinese friends understand and purchase more Pakistani characteristic products and services.

At the ceremony, Aqeel Ahmed Chaudhry, founder of WINZA Jewelry, exhibitor of the second, third, and fourth CIIE, Mian Muhammad Zubair and Habib Ur Rehman, general manager and deputy general manager of PakPersian Carpet, the fourth CIIE exhibitor, joined a round-table dialogue with Freesia Zhu, vice president of HQIICET, to jointly share experience and provide suggestions for Pakistani business firms  to open up the Chinese market.

Yan Yibin, the deputy general manager of HQIICET signed an agreement with WINZA Jewelry and PakPersian Carpet at the event. These two companies will enter the exhibition center of HQIICET, joining hands to explore the potential of Chinese consumer market.

The Pakistan Culture Week, together with the previously held Pakistan-China trade webinar and the Shanghai Pakistan Mango Festival to be unveiled, constitutes a series of business-related activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Through matchmaking and supply-demand jointing, relevant Pakistani business organizations and HQIICET will carry out more in-depth and pragmatic collaborations between Pakistan and China. Chinese consumers are also going to taste fresh and sweet Pakistani mangoes.
