Upcoming Event: Pakistan Chilli Contract Farming Project Promotion & Inaugural Conference of Pakistan-China Condiment Industry Alliance
Summary: Hosted by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Pakistan and jointly organized by China Machinery Engineering Corporation and Sichuan Litong Food Group, Pakistan Chilli Contract Farming Project Promotion & Inaugural Conference of Pakistan-China Condiment Industry Alliance will be held online on June 18, 2021, and we are now cordially inviting you to participate in the event.
I. Introduction
With the joint efforts of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Ministry of Food Security and Research of Pakistan, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority, China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation and Exchange Center and the agriculture-related companies from both countries, the chilli contract farming project has been launched. This event will accelerate the promotion of this project, and inaugurate Pakistan-China Condiment Industry Alliance.
II. Background
As China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has entered into a stage of enrichment and expansion since 2020, agricultural exchanges and cooperation have become the focus for both China and Pakistan. China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and Sichuan Litong Food Group actively responded to the government's call for global agricultural cooperation and actively promoted chilli farming program and chilli deep processing project in Pakistan. After 2 years of small-scale trial planting in Pakistan, the projects have solved the problems of soil and environmental adaptability of chilli varieties, and mastered technologies such as chilli disease and pest control, and large-scale field management. Finally, the projects have met the requirements for large-scale commercial planting.
This conference will attract more and more enterprises, scientific research institutions and chilli industry giants from both China and Pakistan to participate in the contract farming program and the deep processing project, further promoting the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector. China's advanced agricultural technology, agricultural production and management experience and farming development concepts will be introduced into Pakistan to help local farmers improve their unit yield and increase their income.
