PECB's cultural festival on International Culture Day attracts international audience in Beijing

BEIJING, June 6 (China Economic Net) - Spectacular cultural performance, music concert, fashion show, food stalls, and different sports activities attracted a large number of international audiences on the International Culture Day held at Pakistan Embassy College Beijing (PECB).

Students and families from over 27 countries including China, Sudan, Turkey, Bangladesh, Iran, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Egypt, and many African nations set up cultural stalls and exhibited their national dress, food, and handicrafts at the event. Pakistani handicrafts, and traditional dress showcased to highlight and promote Pakistani culture attracted a lot of attention from the participants. Pakistani food and snacks were also a favorite item and attracted the attention of the visitors.

Pakistani Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque and Sudanese ambassador, Dr. Gafar Karar Ahmed were chief guests on the occasion. They visited stalls and exhibitions set up by students of PECB and appreciated them for representing handicrafts, foods, and culture of their respective countries.

During his address, Mion said the entire world is going through a very difficult and extraordinary time in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic which had disturbed the normal life of the people.

In such an atmosphere, people were unable to travel and they could not meet their loved ones, he said and added, “We are very lucky to be in China which is the safest country on the earth.”

He said China had won a rich victory against the COVID-19 pandemic due to determination, discipline, and collective national efforts. However, the rest of the world is still facing this pandemic.

Ambassador appreciated all the students who took part in different activities of the day despite their annual examinations, adding that the students are future leaders of their  nations and asked them to continue working hard with determination and honesty and in a very passionate manner.

Talking to China Economic Net, Principal of PECB, Shazia Amjad said that this cultural event is a part of the school's education and training system, and through such activities, the management of the school wanted to motivate values of friendship, teamwork, and voluntary work among the students besides bringing them together.

She also expressed her deepest appreciation to the school team and everyone who was involved in making the event a success. Shazia appreciated the audience and expressed her gratitude to their strong interest and enthusiastic participation.
