CPEC’s ML-1 project to revolutionize Pakistani Railways: Chinese Ambassador

ISLAMABAD, June 3 (Gwadar Pro) - Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)’s US $ 6.8 billion Main Line-1 (ML-1) project will revolutionize the Pakistani Railways.
In a meeting with Federal Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati here, the envoy said that ML-1 would be the biggest project in the history of Pakistan to bring revolution in Pakistan’s Railways, besides strengthening the national economy.
Azam Swati thanked the ambassador for his keen interest in the ML-1 project from Karachi to Peshawar under CPEC, said an official statement issued after the meeting.
Azam Swati appreciated the services rendered by the envoy and agreed to launch the project as soon as possible. “The cost of ML-1 project is $ 6.8 billion and the country is indebted to Chinese government for all possible assistance to Pakistan for this project,” he added.
Swati thanked the ambassador for his untiring efforts to strengthen Pakistan-China friendship, added the statement.
