Construction of CPEC’s Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway in full swing

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 13 (Gwadar Pro) – The construction work of Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (M-14) is geared up and is expected to be accomplished in June 2021. 
According to APP, an official of National Highway Authority (NHA) briefed the progress of the 292 kilometer four-lane motorway, which form part of Western alignment of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). 
The official said the project has been divided in five sections. 
He said as for the Yarik-Rehmanikhel section, so far, 93 per cent physical progress has been achieved. 

About Rehmanikhel-Kot Belian section, he said the section has been divided in two packages. They have completed about 99 per cent and 93 per cent respectively.  The Kot Belian -Tarap section also has 93 per cent progress done so far. 
While, the Tarap-Pindi Gheb section has completed 61 per cent work. So far over 56 per cent physical progress of the Pindi Gheb-Hakla Interchange section has been achieved. 
According to APP, the M-14 includes provision of 11 interchanges, 19 flyovers, 15 bridges, 74 underpasses, 259 culverts, and three major bridges, each at River Swan, River Indus and River Kurram. This motorway have a 100 meter wide right of way in order to widen the four lane road to six lanes in future as traffic volume increases.
