PM Shehbaz arrives in Beijing for 2-day visit to enhance bilateral relationship
BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Gwadar Pro) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Beijing where he is expected to advance wide-ranging bilateral cooperation agenda with the conclusion of a number of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) & agreements in diverse areas.
Shehbaz Sharif was accompanied by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and other high-level delegations.
"Leaving for Beijing today. Honored to be among the first few leaders to have been invited after the historic 20th National Congress of CPC. At a time when the world is grappling with multiple challenges, Pakistan & China stand together as friends & partners," Pakistani Prime Minister twitted before leaving for China at Noor Khan Airbase.
"My discussions with Chinese leadership will focus on the revitalization of CPEC among many other things. 2nd phase of CPEC promises to usher in a new era of socio-economic progress that will uplift the quality of our people's lives. There is a lot to learn from the Chinese economic miracle," PM twitted.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister is undertaking the visit at the invitation of H.E. Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. The Prime Minister will meet with President Xi Jinping and hold delegation-level talks with Premier Li. The two sides will review the All-Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership and exchange views on regional and global developments.
"The Prime Minister’s visit is also expected to advance wide-ranging bilateral cooperation agenda with the conclusion of a number of MoUs/Agreements in diverse areas, and consolidate the momentum of CPEC cooperation in the wake of the 11th meeting of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) held yesterday, in which both sides expressed satisfaction over the ongoing projects under CPEC while several new projects were also proposed," Spokesperson of Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
It is also to be noted that after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister also congratulated President Xi on his reelection as CPC’s General Secretary for the 3rd term.
