Pakistan received 26% of its total FDI from China: PES 2021-22
ISLAMABAD, June 10 (Gwadar Pro) - With the highest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) received from China, the inflows of FDI to Pakistan reached $ 1.96 billion during Jul-March 2022, according to Pakistan Economic Survey (PES) 2021-22 which was unveiled on Thursday.
“Country wise analyses suggest that, the highest FDI was received from China during Jul-Mar FY2022 $333.5 million (26.0 percent of total FDI),” reads the survey.
According to PES 2021-22, the inflows of FDI reached $ 1.96 billion during Jul-Mar FY2022 compared to $ 2.33 billion in the same period last year, declining by 15.6percent.
The country’s total foreign exchange reserves decreased by $ 7.0 billion during Jul-Mar FY2022 and reached $ 10.9 billion by end-March 2022.
The Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan has taken several steps to increase FDI including supporting the establishment of SEZs to promote industrialization in the country.
