BYD all set to enter Pakistan
BEIJING, Mar.25.(Gwadar Pro) - One of the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturers, BYD, is all set to setup their assembling and manufacturing unit in Pakistan.
The Ambassador of Pakistan, H.E.Moin ul Haque had a virtual meeting with senior executives of BYD Co. Ltd. on Tuesday, where BYD’s executives briefed the Ambassador on their company and their interest in entering the Pakistani market and setting up their manufacturing unit.
The ambassador was accompanied by the Embassy’s Commercial Councilor Badar uz Zaman, and Pakistan’s Consul-general in Guangzhou also attended the meeting. During the meeting, an extensive discussion about the investment landscape of Pakistan was held and both sides were briefed on the latest updates.
The Ambassador briefed them on the attractive policies of the Government of Pakistan for investment in the eclectic vehicles sector, and assured the Chinese enterprise of Embassy’s full support for its planned endeavours in Pakistan.
BYD will not just be manufacturing EV cars but also buses, vans, batteries, chargers as well as other related components for both Pakistan and the region.
It is also worth mentioning that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has the vision to convert at least 30 percent of the vehicles (including motorcycles and cars) on the country’s roads into electrically fueled vehicles by 2030.
