Focusing on youth, spring, and togetherness, the opening ceremony of the much-awaited Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics made a significant statement at the beautiful, purposefully built Bird's Nest Stadium at the heart of the Chinese capital. Beginning on the fourth day of the Chinese Lunar year of Tiger, the ceremony reflects the Olympic motto of “faster, higher, and stronger together”, showcasing the delight of all to see friends coming from afar.

The games opened new avenues for the world to forge strength and togetherness for a sustainable future together. The opening ceremony reflected many essential commitments made by China to the world, especially to make ecological conservation, green and innovation for the Olympics games offering better solutions to people's lives with these sports events. From AI snowflakes to the great use of technology, dazzling spectacle light show, fireworks, and dancing made the venue warm at the freezing temperatures in Beijing.

Beijing has become the first city to host both the summer and winter Olympics ever. Athletes from 91 countries and regions and world leaders from 32 countries, along with the representatives of the international organisations, gave the opening ceremony a global diplomatic flair. President Xi Jinping.

A day before the inaugural ceremony, while speaking at the 139th International Olympic Committees session via video link, President Xi Jinping highlighted the significance and essence of these Olympics. As the world is changing and transforming significantly after this once-in-century pandemic, China has led a path-breaking movement with support from IOC and made these Olympics memorable.

China has taken a giant leap forward from Beijing's "One World, One Dream" Olympics to "Together for A Shared Future" in 2022. The Olympic spirit has been galvanised with the spirit of making the world a place where everyone is equal and together can build a dream for a better world. It is outstanding that nearly 300 million Chinese were engaged in these games.
