CPEC a milestone in promoting regional integration: Khalid Mansoor

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 22 (Gwadar Pro) - Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on CPEC Affairs Khalid Mansoor said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will prove to be a milestone in promoting regional economic integration.

He was speaking at CPEC Industrial Cooperation B2B investment Conference organized by Federal Board of Investment (BOI) in Lahore on Tuesday.

Mansoor said that the government effectively embarks on the second phase of CPEC to accelerate the socio-economic development in Pakistan. He expressed the commitment to make Pakistan a manufacturing hub through industrial revolution.

SAPM on CPEC affairs reaffirmed that the government is taking effective steps for the industrial revolution in the country. He said policies are also being formulated to provide facilities to the investors for providing them enabling environment of investment.

He underscored that the government is paying special attention to the timely completion of CPEC projects.

The conference is aimed at promoting CPEC related special economic zones (SEZs), facilitating public & private projects and the matchmaking of Pakistani and Chinese enterprises for successful B2B joint ventures (JVs) and showcasing Punjab’s public sector projects.

The priority sectors being focused on at the conference as per their significance from Punjab’s context included textile, agriculture & livestock, IT, housing & construction and green energy. Few MoUs between private companies were also signed on sidelines of the conference.

The conference was hybrid in nature with options for both physical and virtual participation. Many companies joined online from China to present their project proposals for which they were seeking JV partners in Pakistan.
