Universities assist China-Pakistan people-to-people exchanges

CHENGDU, Aug 27 (China Economic Net) – The “Local Chinese Teachers Training in Pakistan” kicked off on Monday, which is organized by Sichuan Normal University (SNU), China, with co-organizers of Confucius Institutes across Pakistan.
The four-day training, which combines online lectures with offline workshop, draw about one hundred Pakistani teachers and students.
When attending the training program’s online launch ceremony, Cai Guangjie, vice chancellor of SNU, hoped this event could effectively enhance China-Pakistan exchanges.
Muhammad Nasiruddin Khan, Pakistani dean of Confucius Institutes of University of Karachi, said the two sides’ exchanges and experience sharing is very important and he expected the Pakistani teachers to strengthen their capacity building and improve teaching effect.
At the online launch ceremony, Li Bijian, Chinese Consul General in Karachi, said this year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan and the two sides should strengthen the exchanges and cooperation in education and people-to-people exchanges.
Li called on the two nations especially the youth to deepen mutual understanding and become the most vibrant new force in non-governmental exchanges.
