Pakistani parties unite to greet CPC on successful 100 years

ISLAMABAD, June 18: Major Pakistani parties united on Thursday afternoon to greet the Communist Party of China (CPC) on its 100th anniversary as they highlighted CPC's achievements.
In commemoration of the 100 years of CPC, Pakistan China Institute organized a webinar titled "People Centered: Celebrating 100 Years of CPC".
This virtual conference aimed at learning from the Chinese experience under CPC’s leadership and highlighted new dimensions to further strengthen the bilateral relationship. The strategy of CPC in addressing and alleviating poverty from the country, 10 years ahead of the United Nation's target was discussed and appreciated.
A dedicated panel of nine speakers highlighted that China's people-centric policies are the main reason why the country has been able to bring about 800 million out of poverty in a short span of four decades.
This was the first of its kind webinar engaging the top-tier leadership of Pakistan and China as the two countries also commemorate 70 years of the bilateral relationship.

The webinar was moderated by the Executive Director of Pakistan China Institute (PCI), Mustafa Hyder Sayed. He stressed the contributions of CPC to the people of China and how the leadership has carried the same spirit of 'serving the people' till today.
PCI head Senator Mushahid Hussain read out a congratulatory letter signed by representatives of 9 major Pakistani political parties to President Xi Jinping, who is the General Secretary of CPC. He said on China, there is a complete unanimity of opinion in Pakistan.
Senator Sania Nishtar, chairperson of the government's poverty alleviation program, said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had the potential to eradicate poverty as it has created over 70,000 jobs, and more will be created once prioritized special economic zones become operational in the near future.
Ambassador Nong Rong said that since its founding, CPC has worked for the rejuvenation of the Chinese people and has led the Chinese people to improve their livelihoods. China has also supported Pakistan in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue to do so.
Representatives of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Jamat-e-Islami, Balochistan National Party-Mengal, and the spokesperson of China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP) also highlighted the role of CPC during the last 40 years in poverty alleviation and China’s transformation.
