CIIE an effective platform for the promotion of Pakistani products to China: Pak Envoy

SHANGHAI, May 19 (Gwadar Pro) - Pakistan is looking forward to participating in the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in November 2021 in Shanghai, which provides an effective platform to promote Pakistani products to China, said Pakistani ambassador to China, when meeting with Gong Zheng,  Mayor of Shanghai on Wednesday.   

Both sides held detailed discussions on further enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, education, and science and technology. 

Ambassador appreciated Shanghai Municipal People's Government for jointly holding activities with the Consulate General of Pakistan to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two sides this year.  

Moin said, "Shanghai city will be one of the key partners of Pakistan in its ongoing development. We welcome more enterprises from Shanghai to invest in Pakistan especially in SEZs under CPEC."

The Mayor highlighted that Shanghai will play its role as a bridge between the two countries to further strengthen bilateral relations. Solidarity during the pandemic is a testimonial of the brotherly relations.  

Some prominent Shanghai enterprises have been engaged in CPEC projects and have made a significant investment which is positively contributing to Pakistan’s infrastructure and economic development. Shanghai will further promote cooperation with Karachi under the sister city framework, he added.
